SAOTA architectural practice in collaboration with the Janine Lazard Interiors studio to create the beauty of this home and it is located on the ridge below Lions Head in Cape Town, South Africa. The owners wanted a family residence that would be open and take advantage of the site while also responding to the challenges posed by a sloping corner terrain. The main level contains the living rooms and it was elevated to stand above a plinth with the guest bedrooms, home study, gym and garage set below.
The first and second level were set back and fragmented to leave room for the sheltered terrace which extends to the infinity edge swimming pool. The external sliding shutters and eaves made from aluminum and steel improve the natural shading of the façade and the doors and windows all have performance glazing for optimal light.
