Inspiring from apartment which was completely refurbished by the Buro Koray Duman

This apartment is located in the Chinatown neighborhood of New York city. The project spreads over a surface of 750 square feet. This loft was completely refurbished by the Buro Koray Duman architectural practice with a sculptural style and a much more open layout.
The original space had three dark bedroom built during the 1980s and the layout was transformed into a single bedroom loft with a bathroom and a half sitting on the fifth floor of a corner tenement building with an overview of the Sarah Roosevelt Park.
The wall with exposed bricks defines the whole interior and divides the laundry, storage and powder room from the rest of the loft. The flooring is made of oak wood and there are some areas still covered in vintage wallpapers for a retro ambiance in the kitchen.
Although predominantly neutrally colored, the designers brought some strong tones of color on pieces such as the seats or the large storage space next to the kitchen to enrich the atmosphere of the interior.
